Tsubota’s work attempts to make the viewer feel the tension of shapes and colors in the interaction between objects and their spaces from a purely visual perspective. The combination of different materials such as gesso, basswood and lead move and expand through the change of viewpoints, which brings “The Wall” to life. The surface notches and the points connecting indentations are two of Tsubota’s most important idioms, which play out a visual rhythm together on his works.
