Creative and energetic, Taiwanese artist Yang Mao-Lin produces various works ranging from paintings, installation, to sculptures. Yang is good at telling warm, profound, and enduring moments in life with a playful and witty style.
《The Oz Big Eye》 and 《The Oz Barrel Eye》owe their inspirations to The Wizard of Oz, a familiar story focusing on “journey,” which also symbolizes the artist’s anticipation of life. The two works are fish-shaped copper sculptures, with polish treatment and dyed matte surface, respectively. Equipped with LED lamps, the glass fish eyes gleam, and the Doris dolls hidden inside the sculptures were happy to be protected.
