Nature Tower

Born in London, England in 1949, Israeli artist Zadok Ben-David specializes in works depicting the relationships between humans, animals and nature while employing deft use of human proportion and visual discrepancies to make his highly theatrical sculptures.

In “Natural Tower,” the gracefully pirouetting posture of dancers bestowed with butterfly wings evokes a delightful sense of carefree leisure. The piece has a peculiar “alive” quality, as the texture of the weather-resistant steel materials change color over time and exposure to the elements, the beautiful coloring gradually appearing to grow into a more harmonious relationship with its surroundings.
